Croatia uses the classic panslavic colours, with a shield of ancient heraldric symbols, and a distinctive checkerboard pattern / Bosnia is some kind of clip art fever dream depicting a yellow box cutter, perhaps a metaphor for this totally artificial county carved into the region

Israel adopts a crisp clear design with the recognizable symbol of the Jewish people + nice symbolism with tallit shawl stripes / China completely ignores its thousands of years of history for a commie red field with some STARS (dont tell me they 'represent' stuff thats a cop out

3. Denmark's flag was literally a gift from God in 1219 (look it up) and spawned a bunch of tryhard replicas / Peru looks like if a barbershop declared independence - if you want to see true wasted potential google the flag of South Peru 1836–1839

4. Mongolia somehow puts two clashing colours together and makes it work, plus the Soyombo is this weird ancient aliens symbol thats incredibly unique / Macedonia looks like a childs drawing of the sun, or like a blind person heard about the Rising Sun flag and tried to redraw it

5. S Korea has these cool trigrams which have elemental symbolism, and the taegeuk is v old and v meaningful too, overall really unique design / Namibia actually looks nice but is just totally without any soul - probably because it was designed by Germans with no African input

6. Pakistan - nice deep green goes well with the white, rotated star&crescent makes it look better / Malaysia looks like some Islamic america alt history, what the fuck is wrong with the star also

7. Quebec's looks good and draws uniquely on France's royalist history with the cross and the fleurs-de-lis, unlike actual France which purged that / Jordan makes the usually pleasing pan-Arab colours look bad with the stretched triangle and tiny star, nothing distinctive at all

8. Canary Islands have these cute little dogs, and the colours are beautiful and it looks like something out of a Ghibli movie its so sweet / Iowa isnt even a seal on blue like most state flags, but still looks dull + forgettable w generic colours and a weird tricolour proportion

9. Iran has these cool kufic script fimbrations - the lion&sun would be better but the emblem thing looks neat and very unique too / Libya has ugly colours and a really generic star&crescent, no soul, probably designed in a NATO meeting

10. Canada's flag is just so purely Canadian, with the simple design + maple leaf, breaching the divide between Francophones & Anglophones / Slovenia is a worse copy of Slovakia, with uglier colours and a less memorable crest - it looks like it's some randomized slavic flag

11. Switzerland is really plain and distinctive, the square shape is unique too, its just very Swiss and nobody could mistake it for anything else / Ireland is yet another shitty tricolour at especially godawful proportions with meh colours, should have stuck w a harp flag

12. The US flag isnt my favourite aesthetically but it definitely has some kind of quixotic soul to it, and is universally recognisable / Indonesia is a fake meme of a country with a shitty upside down Poland as a flag, their naval jack is much better though
