Where do you think we will be in 20 years? The majority of people have been very bad in predicting how much more technologically advance our species will be in 20 years.

Lets say for example, pre-2000 Sci-fi movies like back to the future made guesses about how the future might look like which are far from the reality today !

However, Other technologies have sky rocketed. A single smart phone today is more powerfull than a supercomputer back then. Reinforcement Learning Machines are beating humans in some of the most difficult intiution based games, etc ...

In retrospect, I will say as data and compute is increasing exponentially, AI will end the industrial revolution and start the next generation of automation in industry very soon.

However inovations involving breakthroughs in pure science will be comparitively slow.
