2/...they will look at their school leaders like they are crazy. They know the data suggests that they aren't at any greater risk from Covid than getting struck by lightning, and they will act accordingly. Schools will be forced to try and enforce those rules sheepishly...
3/...much like police are having to do. It will be non-stop all day: "sorry, this is dumb, but you can't hug your friend who you just hung out with all summer doing whatever you wanted." All credibility is shot. Rules have to have value...
4/...and high school kids (who generally like accountability) can sniff out lack of value from a mile away.
