Every 2 weeks I host a team of 6 to 9 ER nurses on my back deck. They grill & drink & debrief at the end of their 90 hour shift. Ever since the 1st time, when the public park they had met in for years closed to the public, I do RA. @HQforLibraries & @TheSierraSimone send books

First, a note about safety, so y’all don’t have to worry. I stay inside while they are here, stay off my deck for 3 days afterwards & out of my backyard for a day. The charge nurse sprays down my deck every time. The team also hooked me up with bleach & virucide as bday gifts

I bake them cookies, cut up some limes for their corona, & leave out books based on their tastes. It all started when one said a colleague loved @EricJDickey not expecting me to have any, & I gave them my signed copy of FINDING GIDEON. I’ll always remember that jaw drop.

Every book in these stacks from @shaila_writes, @workmanupdate, @TheSierraSimone, @mattdelapena, @MoragHood, @ANNELAMOTT, @DavidWalker1201 & @OasisAudio went home with a nurse one particularly good RA day. Coronas are a thank you gift from my neighbor for the nurses.

So why am I talking about this publicly for the 1st time? I need books. I particularly need the following genres: 1) sci fi fantasy with a romantic element; 2) true crime & mystery 3) self help 4) comics 5) “raunchy books” like @EricJDickey. @librarylovefest @MarianLiberryan

Also and especially picture books! I am down to just my high holies & forever books that were gifts from beloved family who have since died on the picture book front
