Iceland is planning to reopen its borders June 15. It will require all visitors to take a covid-19 test, agree to a two-week quarantine or present official documentation of a recent negative test. #travel

Greece plans to open July 1. Solo or socially distanced small-group activities, will be encouraged. They’re unsure if bars will be open. All international visitors will have to enter through Athens & submit to a health screening (covid-19 test).
Mexico will open beaches across the country to tourists starting in June. It will continue to reopen in phases through July and August. Personally I think it’s too soon for #Mexico given that they just began to go into quarantine not long ago 🙄
Los Cabos will allow for limited travel beginning June 1 as it starts to open up hotels. Cancun and Riviera Maya will also reopen in phases.
Australia and New Zealand are working on something so residents of both countries can travel between the two. For now, international visitors won’t be allowed. I personally like this approach because they’re testing it out first vs just opening it up to everyone.
Austria is taking a similar approach. They will start with cross-border travel with neighbouring countries. Hotels, restaurants and bars will be open as of May 29. Health certificate required on entry. No international visitors will be alllwed yet.
France has said they plan to open their borders with Switzerland and Germany residents starting June 15. No date announced for borders reopening to others. Health certificate will be required. At the moment their state of emergency is at least until 7/24.
I will continue to update the thread as I see information being shared. There’s tons of information out there of “possible” openings but not much is concrete

#Argentina announced the ban of all sales of commercial flights to, from or within Argentina until September 1.
#Croatia has not announced the opening of its borders for international visitors. For now, some routes are open to foreign nationals with properties or boats in Croatia, or close family.

#Antigua will allow flights from the United States to starting June 4. To be allowed into the country, travelers will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival at the airport.
ST Lucia will start a phased approach to reopening tourism. On June 4 travelers from U.S only will be allowed in. They’ll be required to present certified proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of boarding their flights & undergo temperature checks upon arrival....

Las Vegas casinos were given June 4th as their tentative date to reopen. From what’s being communicated, all hotels are implementing infrared temperature scanners at all entrances and will require face-masks. Bars and nightclubs will remain close.
While Britain never closed its borders, the U.K. government announced it would be imposing a 14-day self-quarantine requirement for almost all travelers starting June 8. Those who fail to do so will be given a $1,218 fine. It will assess the situation and make changes as needed

The U.S Virgin Islands announced they are working on a plan to welcome tourists by June 1. Masks will be required in public places. The plan might change as it gets closer
Germany said on June 15, it will start to lift all border restrictions with its neighbors: France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Denmark and Austria only.
A lot of people are expressing frustration regarding the requirements these countries are imposing. Two personal thoughts on it: remember I said “traveling as we know it, won’t be the same”. This is proving it won’t be...
... Also, most of these destinations are trying to protect their citizens, which in my opinion every place should be doing as well if they’re going to open the borders to everyone...
... At the end of the day, if you want to travel now you’re going to have to follow the rules. Not everything will be easily accessible to everyone at first and I think that’s their intended goal for now.
July 1: Madeira & Porto Santo in Portugal will be open to international travellers. All ppl travelling to the islands will have to either present a negative test done within 72 hours prior to departure or be tested upon arrival (arrival tests will be paid for by the Madeira GOV)
