I don’t know who needs to hear this today but Irish cities and towns aren’t just regional parts of the U.K.

I’m constantly staggered by the pervasiveness of the attitude that Ireland is somehow a part of the U.K.

The fact that we have an entirely different and distinct culture seems to be particularly hard for people to fathom

I’ve lost track of the times I’ve heard iterations of the question ‘but how is it different?’ Like what are you on?! Would you be perplexed by the fact that French culture is different, or German ? It makes no sense! Beyond a colonial hangover !!
