Have you ever done a lifestyle audit?(Thread)

How many of you subscribe to pay TV that you don't need? Do you really watch all those channels except now that you are at home? Why pay Ksh 5000 p.m for channels that you can watch with good internet connection at Ksh 2000 p.m?
Are you spending on non-essentials?
That 6pm coffee drink at Java is worth 10 Safaricom shares. In a month? 300. In a year?
3600 You swallow at your favourite joint (just a bottle) is worth 1 EABL share.
Would you rather be a consumer or an owner? Or both?
Am not advocating for a frugal lifestyle. A little splurging on ourselves won't hurt. But we should not overdo it. Let's find the money, fam!
Before you think investments, where is the surplus money?
Remember surplus is income less expenditure How much do you remain with after meeting all expenses? What are your regular expenses?
I know women who buy clothes every month. Or shoes. How many would they wear at a time? Why spend Ksh 5K p.m on clothes to impress people who don't care? Why live like the millionaire next door who owns an oil rig? Where is your oil rig?
Have you thought of the impact that Ksh 5K would have on your life if directed to proper savings instruments? Suppose you were to buy 200 Safaricom shares, or 400 Co-op bank shares, p.m? For the last 5 years? Ladies, wardrobes are renewed every 6 months, not monthly!
A sacco savings/investment is good
You will get loans & you don't do anything else as long as your monthly payments are remitted. It's a retirement plan too. Stocks or bonds are an extra than are within your control. You can sell stocks at capital gains, sell bonds if in a fix
Nothing is certain in the world of investing; everything has a risk. As a keen investor, be prepared for a roller coaster ride
A lifestyle audit can do miracles. Example

Do your math and your one shilling today will never be the same tomorrow. !
