Hello! Day 4 post-surgery. Today I have showered standing up, blowdried my hair and put on a bit of makeup. Makes me feel better, doubt the nurses care much! Nurse moisturised my feet and legs.

BIG news of the day. I have regained control of my left foot AND the pins & needles numbness has gone! The foot/ankle problem developed when I was hospitalised Australid Day weekend. I was hoping fixing knee would also fix foot! Seems it hss!

Day 5 - finally actually DRESSED!!! And I did it all myself except nurse put on my slippers. Packed and waiting for ambulance. The bag of ice is now my constant companion.

Transfer to rehab ended up being a bit traumatic. I am OK now, but had pain management glitch. Glutes spasmed badly too, so not the smooth transition I'd hoped for. We seem to have pain under control again, have had a physio session, another due now. ITB is painful.

Overall though, all good. My nurse today is fantastic, she is getting everything in order. Had Occupational Therapy assessment this morning too. View is not a view at all, sadly, in this room. Onwards & upwards!

Tip to watch out for - your elbows get a lot of contact use, hoisting youself around. I'm getting staff to look at them today. Quite red and irritated.

Yesterday I could bend to 75°, have to be able to bend to 90° to be discharged.
