Lorde& #39;s album update: a thread.
I& #39;ve said it before, but I& #39;m so happy that Lorde is taking the time needed to make her album as good as it can be

Hell, it& #39;s a relief just to see she& #39;s got the freedom from her record label to do so - we all know albums where it& #39;s obvious the artist was rushed by the record label to release it as soon as possible
I& #39;ll quote Miyamota again - "a delayed [project] is eventually good, but a rushed [project] is forever bad"
And it& #39;d be unfair to even say Lorde& #39;s album is & #39;delayed& #39;, she& #39;s a young adult taking time to process grief in her personal life - again, it& #39;s good to see a young artist being able to prioritise their own wellbeing and not work themselves to the bone
This being vital to not only the person& #39;s health which must always come first, but also the quality of the project.
The need to "suffer for your art" is a fallacy. Sure, negative emotions are powerful, but a person is at their most creative and innovative when they& #39;ve been allowed the time to recover from their hardships
I couldn& #39;t imagine the stress she feels as such a huge artist with the eyes of the world on her. I& #39;m the same age as her, and I often buckle under the pressure of how many emails I have to reply to - I don& #39;t envy the pedestal she& #39;s been put upon
Not to mention how hard the grief of losing a pet hits you. It& #39;s been two years and I still see my dog in my dreams, and I don& #39;t think I& #39;ll ever forget the mental images of our last moments with her. If you& #39;ve never lost a pet, please don& #39;t downplay the pain to those who have.
The TL;DR of all this is that time to heal and process emotions and pressures is vital to a person& #39;s wellbeing and to the quality of their artistic endeavours.
Patience is a virtue. End thread.
