For a fiction writing course I’m taking (I love perfecting my craft) I had to visualize and write about a place that stands out to me. I wrote about my great grandmother’s house in Warren, Arkansas. Her father built that house, she was born there and died there. (thread)
So many distant family members and ancestors of mine were born there, living there, and eventually passing away there. I call them “nightmares” but whenever I’m thinking hard about death, I think about that house. There is also a lot of peace there. It’s quiet and in the country.
It feels like a final resting place for a lot of people. My momma was very close with her grandmother and was devastated when she passed away so she has a lot of happy memories and sad memories there. I felt a lot of spirits there and I think that scared me as a kid but not now.
It just feels like an ancestral place and when I have dreams about it, I don’t feel scared or anything. I just think about my family members who have gone on. I didn’t expect to write so much about it and I have no idea what the point of this thread was but whatever lol
