This game...looks really good? Like, I know it has been touched up for this release but the models look great and embracing the limitations of the PS1 and going for goofier, more stylized folks pays off big time compared to 7 and 8's aesthetic

I have to imagine a lot of folks hated this when it came out

7 and 8, to my understanding, are fairly dramatic stories with angsty boy leads and modern settings

This is, so far, a charming, light fantasy romp with a bunch of goobers

This game seems good as hell! It is shockingly charming, has a nice aesthetic and the Ability/Equip system is interesting.

I'm impressed by how much more engaging the storytelling is compared to what I played of FF7.
