i tweeted a comment about this scene but i’m going to make it a whole entire post because it’s 4am and i have priorities ✨✨✨
this scene. it’s absolutely beautiful and so well written. whenever adora/she-ra went through a simulation, it was always painful, aching. despite the fact that it reminded her of all the good times she had with catra, it was bittersweet, and the simulation -
- was corrupt. this doesn’t just apply to adora, but catra as well. they had no control over what the simulation would project. so basically, they’d be seeing things they wouldn’t want to see (getting all this info from s1, promise)
but now in season 5, after the simulation becomes restored, and after catra’s redemption, adora’s seeing what she WANTS to see, or at least what she wants in general. this scene isn’t like any other simulation scene we’ve seen, because it’s so. intimate.
this scene also implies that adora fell in love with every single version of catra; the good AND the bad. she wanted catra in any form she could get or recive. it didn’t matter, she just wanted catra. and she’d do anything to get her.
this scene reminded me of the quote i started this thread with, and it’s one of my favorites. thank you noelle for making me emo, appreciate it <3
ps: like i said, it’s literally 4am, please bear with me if this still made zero sense ily all mwah
