Before 2017 I wasn’t very practicing at all, but after that was when I sort of “rediscovered” Islam. Back then my imaan surged like never before and as much as I try I can’t seem to feel that level of imaan again. Around this time, my grandfather gifted me a bottle of oud/aththar
-and I wore it before I prayed and recited. Fast forward to now, even though my spirituality isn’t as high as it was then, whenever I wear that oud I feel just a little closer to Allah. Maybe because I associate the smell with praying and quranhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🥰" title="Smiling face with 3 hearts" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with 3 hearts">
Also, yes, I& #39;d love to feel that surge in imaan again, and for a long time I was sad that I wasn& #39;t feeling it anymore and that it was becoming a struggle to maintain ibaadah. But I watched a clip of one of @YasminMogahed & #39;s talks where
She said it& #39;s Allah we& #39;re chasing and it& #39;s Allah we& #39;re worshipping, not the spiritual high, so we have to keep pushing to please Allah even if we don& #39;t "feel it" as much as we used to. And that really helped mehttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🥰" title="Smiling face with 3 hearts" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with 3 hearts">
