I now have 8 succulents, 3 mini palm trees, a cherry tomato plant, & an herb garden all in pots in my 1 bedroom apartment with no patio

Previously I never really owned plants. I highly recommend becoming a fellow plant person, being surrounded by plants is quite healing & lovely
If you are afraid of killing plants or don't know where to begin, I recommend looking for "drought resistant" plants. Succulents are the ones everyone knows are drought resistant, but a whole lot of different plants grow happily in dry climates, not just cactuses :D
If you have a pet like me, you'll also want to look into what's pet friendly. Don't worry if a plant isn't, just keep it well out of reach! For instance I have my aloe plant on a window ledge, herb garden on my kitchen counter, and my tomato plant hanging from my ceiling, no prob
