Found a baby bird in an overturned nest. Poor thing tried to make itself too small to be seen. Drilled holes in a container for drainage, put the nest in it, nailed it to a tree as high as I could.

Waiting for the parents to come back.
Please 2020, let me have this.
Set up vigil next to the window. The internet said it can take up to two hours for a parent to return.

The baby was warm, seemed uninjured. If the parents return, I think it will grow up fine! Looked like it was just coming into the fledgling stage, not quite trying to fly yet.
Looked like this image of a baby grackle, but not so many feathers yet.
Local bird sanctuary told me our set up seems good. Grackles apparently nest ~60 feet up, but are very protective parents and are willing to return to nests much lower.
