#Nicaragua health system is fragile. There are 33 public hospitals in the country. According to @confidencial_ni there are 160 ventilators, of which 128 (80%) are already in use by patients with other pathologies. 2/4

Nicaragua’s communal health system- where volunteers knock on doors and check in on people- is a risk in today’s context. Esp if volunteers lack #PPE. A more functional universal health system is found in #CostaRica, where #COVID mortality rate is the lowest in the Americas 3/4
