The sunnah has clearly outlined that which should be done and benefits the dead. And this is the unfortunate result of rushing to set up fundraisers for every person that passes, which the prophet ﷺ nor any sahabi did.

Shaykh Fawzan حفظه الله in the video even calls it an innovation in the religion. And when given careful thought it’s clear why.

It was very much a possiblity for the prophet ﷺ and the sahabah to raise money for the family of every person who passes, yet they never did.
That alone should be reason not to do such things bc:

لو كان خيرا لسبقونا إليه
“If it was good then they (the salaf) would have preceded us in it.”

As Ibn Kathir رحمه الله says
And wallah this is the truth and any opposition to the sunnah is either a sudden slap in the face or a ticking time bomb. And this was a ticking time bomb that was bound to happen and I didn’t want to speak on it till it did.

Out of the people rejecting it due to emotion.
But alhamdulilah now there’s one of the clear reasons for why the prophet ﷺ and sahabah never did it. Bc that money is now an amaanah upon you.

And if you give it to an open faasiq (disobeyer of Allah) that is a witness against you on the on of judgment.
In my study of Buloogh al-Maram, when the ahadith of saqadah would come up and the scholars would explain who it should not be given to, they mention the one who will misuse it or are not trusted to use it for its purpose.
Ex. You cannot give an alcoholic money and say go pay your rent. Rather, you’d go and do it for them.

You cannot give (insert x faasiq) money and say go buy (insert x necessity) due to the fear of them misusing it while having knowledge that they might.

And this is the point, so now how can you raise money for Rafidha who support Assad the mass murderous Kaffir?
I saw the brother hunt mentioning as well, an Afghan man died recently who’s family supports ISIS. Would any of you fundraiser for his family? Ofc not.

Stick to the sunnah insha’Allah and you’ll avoid all of these bad situations.
I’ll get hate but wallah I don’t care bc it’s all emotion with no daleel, the Haqq is the Haqq no matter how many hate to hear it. Say what you will.
And I’m not arguing with any rafidhi. Eat a brick you not getting a single reply from me.
