katniss everdeen: a character study
“the volunteer”

throughout the series, we see katniss’ devotion to her family, specifically prim. we never doubt her love for prom, and while she was in the games , rue reminded her of prim and that was a large part of why she helped her. katniss isn’t big on compassion and it +
was a big deal for her trade her life for prim’s in the first hunger games.
“the girl on fire”

katniss wasn’t given a choice in how she was portrayed in the capitol. her nickname was meant as an insult of sorts, but she wore it as a badge. she owned it and became the girl on fire. nothing could put her out.
“the victor”

katniss had little hope of surviving the games, and when she did, it was bittersweet. because she would always be playing them, no matter what. because peeta had confessed, she had to always pretend to be in love, which was something katniss hadn’t experienced.
“the mockingjay”

katniss refuses to be used, and that was the main issue between her and coin. she wasn’t going to be a pawn in anyone’s game again, and it really showed the reason why she refused to sit back and play the part of rebel darling. she saw what happened to victors.
“the lover”

the end of the series is, once again, bittersweet. katniss got her happy ending, but at what cost? she lost her sister, her friends, and her home. but she had peeta, and in the end, that’s all that matters. because love would cultivate and mature while hate only +
destroyed and brought ruin.
in conclusion katniss everdeen is a very complex character and this thread doesn’t even get into the nitty gritty because i don’t have enough space in 240 characters, so.
katniss everdeen deserves the world and i am flabbergasted as to how poeple could dislike her.
she and peeta are perfect for each other no i don’t take criticism
