Now that I’ve fallen back into a Shining Force hole I want to convince all of my followers why, if you own a current gen consol or PC, you should buy the Sega Genesis Classics collection to play it and it’s sequel
For anyone unfamiliar, Shining Force was Sega’s answer to Fire Emblem on the Genesis
Except since FE didn’t make it stateside, that means us Americans just had SF
A fun, Tactical RPG but without the permadeath of the old FE games

The gameplay was solid if a little janky due to menu functions
But it’s greatest strengths were it’s character designs
Where FE was focused primarily on humans, SF included centaurs, dragons, beast people, robots, and elves as playable characters
