i usually make them for rps (which is like, 90% of my ocs) but sometimes i make ocs for stories... stories that i never write but where the idea exists in my brain

honestly i usually start with a personality i want to roleplay and then go from there, a lot of my dr ocs had different talents when i made them vs now because i like to change stuff around to match their personality later
