MTA says it's launching a pilot with UV disinfectant that's proven to kill COVID-19

Officials will demo the device at the Corona maintenance shop
The MTA bought 150 UV devices for $1 million from a company, and will be putting out a competitive bid for more
This is what the UV disinfecting device from Puro looks like
Here it is in action
A company official from Puro tells me the UV light also disinfects the air, as well as surface.

But it is an instant disinfection, and does not last if someone later transmits the virus to a train or bus
Dr. David Brenner, director for Columbia University's Center for Radiological Research, says via livestream that UV light is proving "efficient" in killing the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19

He says this pilot will be part of a peer review on UV light and the virus
