Then all of a sudden they start doing really well (practice setting or game)

Instead of making an assumption on what they did. I ask them what changes they made if any...

The feedback is surprising. The way they articulate their own “self-cueing” to someone else can be super helpful for me in the future.

I steal a ton of cues from athletes. I just re-word them to fit the individual or the moment a little better.
In short, coaches can learn from their players just as much as they can learn from us.
