Well guess who was wrong because a Japanese zoo just obtained the impossible.

It couldn't be the same one, no. That was impossible. He was on the other side of Japan when they met.

When they met...

"Don't go too far brat!"

"Whatever you old hag!"

Katsuki ran away from his naggy mother and into the beach away from where she could see him.

He stuck his toes in the wet sand and smiled. He loved nature. It was the only thing that made him not angry. He was always angry.

All the sudden he felt like he was being watched. He looked around and saw no one.

Very suspicious.

He crept around the rocks stealthily.

He spotted a pair of eyes that quickly retreated to the water. He WAS being watched!

He chased after it the other boy swimming faster than he could ever imagine. But he could run faster and the water was shallow. He cornered the little boy and shouted "why are you watching me!"

The boy was thin, his skin was slightly green, he had scales on his shoulders and what could be only gills. He looked below the waist to see what looked like a trout tail. This wasn't seriously mermaid was it?

The kid? let off a series of clicks and hisses.

"I won't hurt you." He kneeled down and held his hands up to show he wasnt a threat.

The mer looked at him cautiously. He sniffed the air and came a little closer. Inbetween his fingers was webbing. He stared at him, his cautious look growing more curious.

"My name is Katsuki."

"Kachuchi."

"Ka-tsu-ki."

"Ka-chu-chi."

"No. Katuski."

"Kacchan."

"Fine."

The mer looked pleased, the little fucker, and held his hand out for Katsuki to see.

"What do you want?"

He used his other hand to show that he wanted to press hands.

Katuski pressed his hand against the mer's and he let out happy little chirps.

He was actually pretty cute. He wondered if the hand pressing had any significance.

"Katsuki!!" His annoying mother called out.

The mer's ears flattened and he escaped into the ocean.

Fucking old hag! He just got him to calm down!

He hoped he would see him again.

But not like this.

The mer looked fragile, and pale. The glossiness of his skin was gone and his tail was a little flakey. He looked so sad and pathetic.

As they made eye contact the mer smiled even if just a little. He pressed his hand against the glass wall.

Katuski pushed his hand against his side. The crowd gasped as they looked deep in each other's eyes.

"Hey kid."

A man in the aquariums uniform said under his breath.

He had Raven black hair pulled into a bun. His tired eyes and name tag told the story that he was a marine biologist here and something, or someone, was making him pull several all nighters.

The Mer didn't seem scared of him. Good.

"I need you to come with me."

"And if I don't?" Katsuki whispered sternly.

"Then that creatures health will decline even more."

Are they going to let him see him?

"Alright, I'm coming."

He led him into a room with a fake beach a deep pool inside.

He walked up to pool and knelt down. Seconds later he was tackled by a merman giving off happy clicks.

"Kacchan!"

"Yeah yeah happy to see you too."

He snuggled into his neck crooning.

"I you two have met before." A soft voice said.

Katsuki looked over and saw a man.

He looked more like a skeleton than man. He had a somber look on his face. "This mer was injured by poachers. We had to buy him on an illegal site before someone else got him

"Then why is he in a fucking aquarium?"

"We have to make money to care for him."

"All of his needs costs a LOT of money."

He looked at the merman on his chest who was still nuzzling and crooning. "Like what?"

"His diet, his surgery, his medicine, it all adds up."

"So you show him like a pony?"

"Look kid." The man with dark hair and tired eyes.

"There aren't easy ways to get vets and medicine for a species no one knows exists."

That's fair.

The mer nibbled on his neck purring and clicking.

"So what do you want me to do?"

"If you come and spend time with him, keep him happy and make him take his medicine,

We will pay you and pay for your schooling to be a marine biologist.

"How did you know I-"

"We know lots of things, like the existence of mer. It's best if you don't ask questions."

"Fine."

"So will you-"

"Yes. How could I fucking not?"

The mer had fallen asleep.

Cuddled on his chest with a pleased smile.

Katsuki sighed. Well here starts his new l life. Can't say he minds too much where it's going.
