He's not allowed to wear normal clothing (t-shirt and pants), because his enemies will accuse him of manipulating the audience via seduction. (He says he's perfect, so logically he's very attractive.)

He would rather have his enemies think he can't be trusted because he flees after giving his speeches, not because he's overwhelmed by the anxiety caused by public speaking and needs to go rest somewhere quiet ASAP
