In Day6’s Zombie, they sing about how life can feel like a repetitive, meaningless cycle. Even though we may try to change something, we still can’t seem to do anything, which leaves us feeling empty.

The track itself is quite melancholy to match the sad lyrics,

But I believe there to be a hidden message of hope.

The melody tentatively explores higher and higher notes as the song carries on, and with the key change at the end, allows Jae's final part to hit a high Db, whereas the beginning of the song started two octaves below.

I feel like this represents the fact that even if life feels repetitive, worthless, & like nothing will ever change, there will /always/ be unseen hope, love, development and reason to keep living.
