BREAKING: Bellmawr police have arrested a man who was working out inside Atilis Gym. It’s unclear what the charge is.
Police won’t confirm the charge, but owners said the man refused to give his name to police, so he was arrested. Another man was also given a summons, not sure on charge. And owners say two people were pulled over. Police say anyone leaving the gym will be issued a summons.
“He would not give his name so they cuffed him,” said co-owner Frank Trumbetti. Ian Smith, co-owner, has been on the phone with two members who were pulled over and cited. “I’m sorry this happened,” he said.
There are less than 10 people inside the gym. The owners have gone around and warned each member that if they go outside they need to give their names or they could be arrested.
UPDATE: man who was arrested was released & has returned to the parking lot. Said he was taken to the police station and given two citations for breaking the gov’s orders and obstruction. “I asked them why they needed my name and the next thing I knew they were handcuffing me.”
