Long Island, New York was literally created to get away from the people of color in NYC and those ideals still stand over a hundred years later today. It continues in 2020 to be one of the most segregated places in the US.
Now during COVID-19, the essential workers that reside in the lower income, less white towns continue to be put at risk because white people are too fucking stupid to differentiate between essential and non-essential services during a literal fucking pandemic.
Towns like the one where I’m from, Brentwood, have thousands more cases of COVID than Commack, where “inconvenienced” people need their fucking haircuts
While spoiled, ignorant assholes continue to protest on Jericho Tpke that they have the right to breathe into each others mouths at Uncle Giuseppe’s, essential workers in mine and fiancés families continue to get sick while taking care of the elderly, REAL ESSENTIAL JOBS
When people laughed at me for being upset after the 2016 election, saying “how bad could it be?”, THIS IS IT FOLKS. WE’RE HERE. The entitled and ignorant have their voice, and it’s spreading as fast as this virus.
