Life works in mysterious ways. Today while I was sitting with my family, with my parents & both my brothers laughing about random things, I couldn't help but wonder how my life would've been a total disaster rn if things had turned out slightly different two years back.
This is gonna be a long thread but an important one so brace yourselves.
I was busy in the 3rd year sports week at that time. One fine morning my dad received a call from his cousin from back home telling him that my dad's aunt had passed away. After about an hour my parents left to attend the funeral & I had to go to college alone.
On my way my dad texted me to ask if I had safely reached (everything was okay until then)
Two hours later I got a call from my khala telling me to come home asap. She didn't tell me what happened. I took a cab and when I reached home, she broke the news.

My parents' car had had a major accident in the mountains. The car had fell off the edge of the mountain into a deep ditch. We didn't know if my parents were okay or not.
I couldn't breathe for a minute.
I couldn't breathe for a minute.
The car was an absolute wreck & totally destroyed. It had turned upside down & into a place where no one could see. My parents could've been lying there for days without anyone noticing but somehow my dad managed to break the glass window & get out of the car to get help.
Whoever saw how badly the car was destroyed was amazed that the passengers had made out alive. People rarely come out of these accidents in the mountains alive. At least I've never seen anyone survive those accidents. It was indeed a miracle.
And just like that I got my parents back. The purpose of this thread is to share some of the lessons that I learnt after this entire experience. It changed my life in various ways.
1- While I was absentmindedly standing in the hospital emergency, I made a pledge to myself to always try to be kind to my patients and never shout on them for not understanding anything. I promised myself I'll always try to be as humble as I can.
2- Everything in this world is temporary. Your entire life can slip right out of your hands like grains of sand within seconds. No point in worrying too much about worldly problems. Do your best and leave the rest to Allah. Indeed He's the best of planners.
3- Life is short. Never be afraid to do the right thing or stand up for what you believe in. If all you can do is raise voice for someone, do it. It'll also be a favor to your conscience in the long run, you'll see.
4- Try to be a better human being and more importantly, don't keep useless grudges in your heart. Why torture yourself with hatred when you're gonna die any minute?
