There is one thing that almost every pregnant woman believes: Childbirth is the worst pain you could ever feel.
You don’t have to look too far to find out why. TV shows about labor & birth are quick to highlight images of women in labor writhing in pain.

& almost every pain you can imagine is compared to the pain of childbirth.

Okay, down to business
I got my 'Baby-Catching' training experience at Iyienu Mission Hospital, Ogidi.
The midwives I met there got to be the best set of nurses I've encountered my entire life as a medic. Jovial & succinct yet adequately skilled.

As far as those set of nurses are concerned, the illusion that nurses are rude is nothing but a 'Myth'.
During that short period of exposure, we were on call, when one of our patients arrived to the hospital having some cramping. The nurse checked her, and she was 5 or 6cm dilated and contracting regularly.
She was in good spirits, and she had very expertly applied eye-shadow, and looked like a patient who would be sought out for pregnancy related advertisements.
It is uncommon for patients to be so relaxed & comfortable appearing with such advanced dilation, but it does happen occasionally.
Her water broke when she was 8cm.
Okay, now it’s going to get real. This is what we thought.
Except it didn’t.
She continued lounging and laughing with her husband.

Even the most stoic patients often experience some degree of pain as they move through transition and prepare to push.

Soon she was completely dilated and was feeling a mild urge to push.
She put away the iPad where she’d been looking at Facebook.

Over the course of two contractions, she pushed her baby out. She held her breath while pushing but otherwise, no grimace.
Not a single bead of sweat graced her forehead. Her makeup remained perfectly applied.

Pain during labor is different for every woman. It varies widely from woman to woman and even from pregnancy to pregnancy.
Women experience labor pain differently — for some, it resembles menstrual cramps; for others, severe pressure; and for others, extremely strong waves that feel like diarrheal cramps.
It's often not the pain of each contraction on its own that women find the hardest, but the fact that the contractions keep coming — and that as labor progresses, there is less and less time between contractions to relax.
However, there are some things that women who have experienced both say hurt more than giving birth. Everyone experiences pain differently, so what might be more painful for one person may not be for another.
Don't be scared sis, go and pop that little cute creature out.
