You know what, Since Korra is coming back into focus and I have had to see korra fan trying to shit on the OG, I'm gonna do a thread on how Korra is the WORST Avatar @LivingScribe and others are compling threads on it, so i'm trying to make something definitive.
So let's start with the big question; what do people not like about Korra?

The very first scene establishes exactly why, and all the problems that come afterwards. She's already bending each element aside from air, and "We gotta deal with it"
This is a problem; Aang was a prodigy with his own element, but he needed some instruction in the others.. who taught her that- oh right, gotta deal with it.

And despite dealing with training right afterwards she didn't change... at all. Which also raises a few questions
See in Last Air Bender, Each Element was spiritual in it's own right, and they influenced the philosophy of the nations. In fact, you need to have the right mindsets in mind to actually bend the elements; Aang had trouble with earth bending for that reason.
Korra I can see having the affinity, and I can see her spiritual weakness... not helping her with airbending, but she really shouldn't be acting like that.

Like She was raised by the WL, more then her parents right? They allude to it a few times but it's not really... impactful
And she doesn't really grow from that.

Really her personality is the biggest thing; she doesn't grow, she dates all her friends (To malupilate them, aside from Asami… who's flatter then a washingboard character-wise)
To make things worse, she's handed a lot of her victories; she didn't defeat Amon, she got lucky and made him run away.

and her bending was restored by aang… oh, and well, she got the past lives killed off, forever.
But that comes to this; why do fans of the original tend to dislike Korra? I know there's some overlaps but there's the "Mine is better" Sides that always from. I think, and if you have other ideas way please reply, it's the world itself.
Let's start with bending, I've already touched on it, but it lost a lot of the spirituality aspects. However in what looks like a balance-patch powers that took a lot of training got boosted; Blood bending without a full moon for example.
Firebenders shooting lightning to power the city, something that was very, very rare. Heck they redid sparky sparky boom man in season three, but gave him tits.

Makes the og look really... pathetic. Heck season three badguy could FLY.
it took Avatar state aang to fly!

Speaking of which, the avatar state used to be really powerful and was used only in emergences. To master it (So you don't start killing people around you) You needed to reach a sort of enlightenment. Korra... turns it into a power up.
Spirits are changed to; they were once extensions of nature... mysterious, alien even. Now they are aliens... also opening the borders was the worst mistake korra ever made; Wan's life story Shows that no, spirits need to stay far, far away from humans.
Raava and Vaatu… are retconned in and don't make much sense in context. I don't think the Wan Backstory was ever made canon... and unneeded because the Avatar was basicly an entity that was strongly implied to be the force for balance in the avatar world. Spirit and human
And then there's the themes of nature... which are destroyed by the 1920's city after a decade where thw sword and shield where the typical normie weapons. The tech increase makes some sense, but not to that level.

Heck why isn't this a manjor point of contention?
The City dealing with the impacts of the enviorment sounds like something The Avatar should be concered with, escpailly because the Hebi, a forest spirit, got pissed after his forest was destroyed. The fire nation was industrial and it was shown as a BAD THING.
Korra to me comes across as a setting that only connects tot he original when convient. Otherwise it might as well be it's own enity. As it's own story it struggles... as a sequel? Well, it's shit.
