There's never been a better time to support female-founded and run companies--they're used to being scrappy and creative with less money, and have a better eye for risk according to the research. #femalefounders

Unfortunately, they're the hardest hit during economic downturns, as VCs look for "experienced" founders. The problem is that in an industry where women have been historically underrepresented, those experienced founders are, well, lots of guys.
