(1/4) Here’s how media “conferences” w/ @GovernorTomWolf & @SecretaryLevine work:

Press teams send out alerts for their respective daily **virtual** press conference.

We submit question(s), then they are asked in order they are received. Officials can answer as long or as...
(2/4)...short as they want. We have no opportunity for a follow-up question, to clarify what their response is, or to provide tone/context to our inquiries.
Often they read part of an answer or refer to notes, suggesting they knew the question was coming.
(3/4)That hurts all of us - we can’t get (all of) the info we want & then can’t share it with viewers. I’d love to ask 28 questions every day, but it’s relegated to 1 each & then “next!”

Gov. Wolf has said for weeks he wants to give us more access but so far, hasn’t happened.
(4/4) There has to be a way to make sure we are all socially distant and safe, while still maintaining access to powerful public officials making decisions for millions of Pennsylvanians.

I get there are barriers and concerns, but we’re 2+ months into this - it needs to change.
