On the whole, I am very proud of the people of this country. My trust in believing in the "will of the people" has been refreshed. When the COVID-19 scare started people were willing to follow the leaders orders and do what they needed to "flatten the curve".
Many said at the time this was giving up freedom. However, once the immediate threat was handled, the people, on their own, decided enough was enough. It's still a work in progress but many of the same people that temporarily sacrificed some freedoms for what they saw as best for
...the country as a whole are now actively reclaiming those freedoms. Of course nothing is 100% and you still have the Karens and the tin pot dictators in office out there that are trying to make what people gave up temporarily, permanent, but from all the evidence I see
...that won't happen. In fact, from the evidence I see, I think it's much more likely that the Karens and tin pot dictators will have even less power come the next crisis. So we as a Nation showed we can come together during a crisis and we can and will retain our individual
...freedoms when we do. I think 9/11 taught us some things about allowing the Government to permanently change things during a temporary crisis and while there is a long fight yet to come I think in the end the people and freedom will prevail.
