Raúl Jiménez - the most underrated player in the Premier League 🇲🇽

Raúl Jiménez has always been a goal scorer. This was evident even in his early days in Mexico with Club América. He won the Clasura in 2013, just under 2 years after his debut, finishing as the second highest goal scorer for Club América.

He went on to join Atléti in 2014.
Whilst his start was promising, he couldn’t really get game time in an Atlético Madrid team that had great forwards. He was young at the time and moved away.

He eventually joined Portuguese giants Benfica, and due to his growth being stunted, this is a reason he’s underrated.
Jiménez scored 31 goals and provided a further 15 assists in 120 appearances in Portugal. Eventually, signings were brought in and hindered the Mexicans playtime, as he joined Wolves on an initial one year loan.

This is where he really began to showcase his talent...
In a team where he could finally be a regular starter, he began to show his talent.

He scored 13 goals and provided 7 as Wolves finished seventh and achieved European qualification for the first time in decades.

Jiménez spearheaded this side and the move was made permanent.
So far this season, in a predominantly pessimistic Wolves side who rely on counter attacking, Jiménez has already equalled his goal tally from last season and has one less assist, in 9 less games.

This is very impressive and the fact he has got better later than most players...
...has made him go under the radar.

He is averaging 0.45 goals per game and averaging 189 minutes per goal.

Scoring 11 big chances this season, it’s clear to see he is a poacher.

He has more goals this season than:

- Kane (has been injured)
- Martial
- Richarlison
His importance to the rest of the side must not be underestimated aswell.

He may be a poacher, but evident in his assist tally, he brings other players into the game aswell, helping Wolves transition effectively.

He has a 72.48% pass completion rate and 1,262 touches.
In Europe, he has been incredible.

He practically singlehanded you helped Wolves qualify for the group stages with 12 goals in just 342 minutes of play - simply staggering.

He’s played 7 in groups/knockouts with 6 goals in 7 games. Wolves would be nowhere without him.
With links to Manchester United and other top European clubs, it’s no surprise to why this is the case.

Some still are unaware of his abilities and are curious as to why his price tag is so high at 29 years old.

6”3 but can score, create and is still mobile, he is a top player.
