Technically these online news portals are running like independent TV Channels without paying any license fee for their operations to the Government.

The multiple sources of the revenue of these fake news peddling factories are unknown to the public at large.

The names of the Real owners and promoters of these fake news peddlers are not known to anyone.

These news portals are running like full fledged media houses without any accountability to the public or the government.

So today in order to bring these fake news factories under the ambit of the law and government, I have today filed a petition with the @PMOIndia to create an independent watchdog body for these news portals.

This Commission would be more powerful than the current Press Council of India with powers to issue and cancel license of existing or new portals. It will further have powers to audit the Financial dealings of these portals.

This Commission if formed would also have the powers to order prosecution of journalists who are found guilty of spreading false propaganda and misinformation..

I hope Nationalist News Portals like @OpIndia_com @SwarajyaMag @facthunt_in would wholeheartedly support this petition of mine to bring accountability..
