I thought I’d take a moment to share some love for 2000s comics. A great decade in comics, hugely formative for me. It was in the 2000s that I got back into regularly reading comics as a teenager, and when I decided I wanted to write comics.

What are your favourite 2000s comics?

One obvious choice for me would be SCALPED. This crime saga is perhaps my all-time favourite comic. It’s acclaimed, but arguably still underrated. Powerhouse storytelling. I own all 60 single issues (all signed by Jason Aaron), all 10 TPBs, and all 5 deluxe hardcovers.

Another classic 2000s comic I’ve not seen mentioned in the replies yet: ESSEX COUNTY. The breakout hit of one Jeff Lemire, who has gone to become one of the most significant comic creators of the 2010s. This remains his masterpiece, though. One of my favourite comics ever.
