first, lets define #brandidentity:

- brand identity is the entirety of a brand’s expression of itself to the world.

it is also defined as “visible elements of a brand, such as color, design, and logo, that identify and distinguish the brand in consumers' minds”
for one to develop a brand's identity, first they have to understand the brand. often times, people don’t understand their brands and get confused when asked a simple questions like “what do you do? or what does your brand’
side note: having a logo, is not having a brand. you have to offer something (a service), or be something (a product)
now, how does one understand their brand?

simple, ask these simple questions, answering them, will also help you develop a marketing strategy as it helps you identity you clientele/audience
1. what are you selling?
2. why you? or your product/service?
- what's your special sauce?
3. to who?
- this is the part where you figure out your audience/clientele
4. what their content consumption behavior?
- this will help you with figuring out channels of content distribution.
5. content
- this is the part where you now put everything you have figured out above into visual presentations

now you do your brand identity after understanding your brand and its offering.

often times, people take this as the first step, and they start figuring out the rest
now that we have our brand identity, we know where our marketing efforts will be targeted [audience], we also know the channels, be it social media, tv, radio etc, its time to address the biggest mistakes brands make, i will start with elephant in the room: #consistency
what is #brandconsistency?

- it is the act of delivering the same brand messaging, voice and visual elements in every graphic, and piece of content.
mind you, these elements and voice, were put in place by YOU! how hard is it to maintain them?

its like habits, how hard is it to brush your teeth in the morning? if you make a habit, it become a thing.
same in branding, if your brand colours/shades are black and white? well, you better maintain that before you confuse your clients and lose revenue
while being consistent, don’t feel pressured to put out content just so you can fit and maintain your pattern.

this is one of the biggest mistakes brands make, they end up putting our content that is poor in quality.
and that tells you one thing, patience and planning are not part of the brand. to them, its all about visibility and relevance.

that is how you end up losing clients/audience and all you get are likes and no engagement or return of investment
consistency doesn't doesnt only apply to content and posts, it applies to the brand as a whole, from how you price your service/products, how you engage with your clients, and most importantly SERVICE DELIVERY!
how hard is it to delivery the product/service you have advertised? to add to that, how hard is it to deliver ON TIME?

if you cant deliver, why advertise in the first place? why accept books/commissions in the first place?
if you go back to the backbone of the business, you will see that, they did their logo first, created social media accounts first, before figuring out their service offering and strategy.

don't make those mistakes
