The American movies are LOOSELY based off the first Ring novel. In fact iirc the manga adaptation of the novels ft a femame protag in which the American movies i would assume adapted it from.

The jp ver adapted both Ring and Spiral.
And iirc the Kr ver adapted Birthday.

There is also a Jdrama version which i have seen which is also VERY LOOSELY followed the first Ring novel.

Loop has NEVER been adapted bc if they were to make a movie based off Ring and Spiral then you would find out the truth about Sadako (haha)
