1/ I’m sure you’re just as sick as the ITK accounts as I am. I decided to make this account to put the record straight about what’s going on, I don’t know everything but I know more than most (where I have the information from is outlined below). #nufc #NUFCTakeover

2/ I work for a law firm (that I won’t name) based in London. The firm primarily deals with large corporates and has a focus on M&A. The Premier League outsources part of its legal work to my firm - including *some* elements of the owners and directors test.

3/ We have insane levels of confidentiality around our work, even more so on public interest companies and M&A and the takeover of Newcastle is exactly both of those things.

4/ I’ve seen around 5 working papers regarding the takeover, and directly worked on 3 of them. The piracy issue is very much a huge legal hurdle and this is as far as my involvement goes (I specialise in law on intellectual property).

5/ Basically, from the limited amount of analysis I have done on this it’s clear that a multinational, geopolitical issue such as this is going to stretch out for a while.

6/ the good news is... that the working papers I was involved in were closing the piracy case due to insufficient evidence against the Saudis. This work took place over the last two working weeks.

7/ That’s as far as my involvement went - safe to say from what I’ve seen is that the piracy issue has been closed and usually a deal of this size would take another 2 weeks from the closure of the last working paper.

8/ The 5 working papers I saw were numbered 67 through to 71 and deals of this size normally have around 70-100 working papers. It’s looking like it’s done so stay calm and for gods sake stop listening to the newspapers!
