In 1921, The Queen’s grandparents, King George V and Queen Mary, held the first Garden Party for The Not Forgotten, to recognise wounded service personnel who had risked their lives fighting for their country.
The tradition still continues today, and the annual Garden Party for The Not Forgotten is hosted at Buckingham Palace by Members of the Royal Family, including The Queen, and The Princess Royal, who is Patron.

While many of their events can no longer take place, the charity is still making sure that no one is forgotten. Their dedicated team are in regularly in touch with the older generation of veterans, offering a friendly voice at the end of the phone.
The Not Forgotten is also hosting virtual concerts that the community can enjoy at home, to lift the spirits of those who are most isolated.
