So this took off more than I expected.
Instead of listening to an old white dude rant about bad practices by other white dudes, I suggest you tune in to what some much more interesting people write about #AndroidDev. https://twitter.com/ErikHellman/status/1262322194182438912

There is @lariki, Flutter/Dart GDE, skilled sketchnoter, and owner of the most amazing keyboard. Also, if you got any feedback about the Flutter UI toolkit, she's one of the people in the Flutter community you can reach out to. Also, check out her talks! https://laramartin.dev/talks/
Do not miss @zarahjutz, Android GDE from down under who does some really great talks on complex Android stuff. She recently did a really great talk about Android Data Bindings (together with @botteaap) that every Android developer should see.
Another Android GDE is @ragdroid. She's another great speaker who is one of the few I've seen that could actually explain how to use Dagger 2 properly! Her post from 2017 is still a great read about this! https://proandroiddev.com/dagger-2-android-defeat-the-dahaka-b1c542233efc
If you're still sceptical about Jetpack Compose for Android or just want to learn more, I recommend you to tune in to @pamelaahill. Her latest post on this topic should be read for anyone new to Jetpack Compose. https://proandroiddev.com/why-do-we-need-jetpack-compose-d69a5fd20122
Another great speaker and Android developer is @anitas3791. While we're waiting for her next talk you can check out her excellent session on Styles, Themes, and Material Theming. https://speakerdeck.com/anitas3791/styles-themes-material-theming-oh-my
Did you know that you can do some amazing things with Machine Learning on Android? I learned a lot about this from @margaretmz. She has so much stuff published on this, but you can start checking out her awesome list of TFLite resources: http://bit.ly/awesome-tflite
Another Flutter GDE you can't miss is @nitya. Besides being a GDE, she's a DevRel at Microsoft and will be speaking about visual storytelling at Microsoft Build this week (starting today!). https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/join-me-msbuild-sketchthedocs-nitya-narasimhan-phd/
Do you like tinker with hardware? Cool IoT stuff? Meet @DoesitPew. I really wish I get the chance to visit her home and see all her cool toys and gadgets. Besides her great tech talks, she also speaks about speaking. Check it out! https://stacydevino.com/speaking/
There is apparently two smartphone OSes that matters and @designatednerd knows both of them. She did some really great talks about using Kotlin for both iOS and Android that is well worth checking out. http://designatednerd.com/public-speaking/
There are so many more people I could list here, but apparently I also need to work. Feel free to fill in this list with other amazing developers.
Stay safe and be nice to each other!
