Why airplane food taste so bad?

An Aircraft Kitchen is technically known as the GALLEY, where food is prepared not cooked then stored before serving on flight.

Flight attendants use Airline meal service trolley, a small serving cart to transport meals, beverages &

Some equipment found I’m the galley are:
* Food Ovens,
* Large Meal Trolleys,
* Coffee Machine,
* Trash Bin,
* Smaller Storage Containers, and
* Fuse Panel

Airplane food has a bad reputation for some reasons;

Prior to takeoff, meals are

prepared in advance on ground. Food are difficult to prepared on flight at high altitudes bcos of pressure loss. So, airlines freeze pre-made meals on the ground then defrost them out while in flight.
In d economy cabin, most of the time, the rice and sauce come in FOIL so

that it could retain its temperature 4 a longer time. Imagine serving a lot of people on board, if care isn’t taken, the last set of people to get food receives cold meal.

Food prepared on ground, is made in a way to taste excellently good before the flight takes off,

but delay in serving of food, & the following factors affect its taste;

high altitude dry air,
low pressure &
loud engine noise in flight cabins have a great impact on d passengers’ ability to smell & taste thereby causing d good prepared food to seemingly taste horrible.

The dry air suppress the sense of smell on board, while low air pressure and engine noise affect our taste settings by repressing the ability to taste sweet and salty foods.
This always make the caterers to originally add up additional salt and sugar to like extra 25-35%.

Did you notice you could need more sugar than normal to take your coffee on board or you just take in everything you get served?

Meanwhile, there are some natural flavors and food that do retain its taste even in air. Such as orange, tomato juice, ginger and garlic.

But can we get back good taste while eating in flight?

Wearing a pair of noise-cancelling headphones could actually be useful.

Also clearing and redressing your nasal passage caused by dry air, this will eventually restore your taste settings & make you enjoy your meal
