Yesterday I decided to walk out of news7 Tamil debate show on migrant labourers after BJP panellist Karu Nagarajan made distasteful, personal remarks against me.

Evidently the BJP could not answer the points raised by me on the untold miseries suffered by scores of migrant labourers on the streets and took to personal attacks and slurs, calling me a third rated woman and addressing me disrespectfully.

This is not d 1st time that BJP hd used character assassination as a weapon to silence women like me. Frm the Prime Minister to panelists like Karu Nagarajan,BJP had been using it as a strategy. they also think they could use same strategy to silence d media and the opposition.

I refuse to give in to this so called strategy. Having been in politics for over 25 years, I have seen this and more. If the BJP thinks it can silence me by using personal slurs, I would like to warn that it will be disappointed.

I was also shocked that the news7 channel chose to continue the discussion after this incident.

I would like to state that until BJP panelists learn to respect women, I would not take part in any debate along with them.
