thread: DONT SUPPORT QUANTIC DREAM'S TWITCH
a french game company called quantic dream will be streaming on twitch starting on may 25. their most popular works are detroit become human, heavy rain, and beyond two souls. although i really enjoy detroit become human and certain aspects of the other two games,
quantic dream has exhibited inexcusable behavior that no wonderful game can save.
quantic dream has two ceos: guillaume de fondaumière and david cage. david cage is more in charge of the stories in the games, giving him much more power than fondaumière. i'm actually not very sure
if fondaumière is as bad of a person as david cage, but even if he isn't, he at least doesn't do anything to stop cage.
david cage's games feature very sexist overtones. you can say that about a lot of video games, but cage's are especially disgusting. for example, the female
characters in his games are always pushed around and never given the same treatment as the male characters. this is very true in detroit become human. you could say it's just storytelling, but it's so much more than that.
(TW: r*pe)
david cage has inserted r*pe scenes in not one,
but TWO of his games: heavy rain and beyond two souls. neither scene adds anything to the story and it makes you wonder why he put it there in the first place. in beyond two souls, the victim is an underage girl. while i believe it's important to shed light on how dangerous the
world can be in these instances, it's really unnecessary to have r*pe scenes across two different games. it comes off as fetishization because of cage's clear infatuation with that type of scenario.
(TW over, you can keep reading the rest now)
but that's all just within the
fictional worlds of his games, it can't be that bad in reality, right? NOPE, it's bad out here too.
during the production of beyond two souls, david cage added a naked render of ellen page's body to the game without her consent. while the model can't be seen in the game, you can
access it in the game's files. WHY DID HE PUT IT THERE IF IT'S NOT EVEN IN THE GAME?! ellen page was actually going to sue david cage for that, but eventually backed out. i wish she went through with the lawsuit.
ex workers of quantic dream report a toxic work environment,
most likely due to cage's nasty influence. one time, an IT tech discovered hundreds of photoshopped images of quantic dream workers with extreme bigoted imagery. cage and fondaumière denied knowing about the images, but i don't buy that. how do you not notice your employees
when detroit become human was about to release, several people close to david cage were having last minute worries that the game would be perceived as sexist. (surprise surprise, it is!) instead of altering the game and pushing back it's release date, cage went ahead with the
release. that alone is enough to prove his disregard for women and their rights.
so please, when quantic dream starts streaming soon, DONT give them any support. i'm not just talking about bits, donations, and subs, i'm also talking about watching in general. don't follow them
or interact in any way. we need to show quantic dream that we aren't just going to sit back and ignore cage's terrible behavior.
and i understand that the dbh fandom is alive and well and wants more content. i do too. but we can't keep supporting quantic dream like this.
something very serious has to be done to assure me that david cage will fix his attitude and his games.
if you wanna learn more about cage's deplorable treatment of women to make your own decision, i made a video a month ago where i discussed sexism in dbh specifically.

i hope on may 25, i can count on you all to not be there for quantic dream.
quantic dream's twitch already has 155 followers. let's not let that number go any higher.
