Thanks to this lockdown, I am leaving the left. I voted for Trudeau and used to be annoyed by Trump. I now realize how naive I was - true liberalism resides on the right in North America, because that's where the freedom of the individual is still respected.

The modern left is preoccupied with shallow virtue signalling and superficial catch phrases. Groupthink has taken hold and there is no room for nonconformity on the left. It is rotten, decadent, and corrupt.

There is no intellect on the left anymore. The anti-scientific approach to these lockdowns underlines that those who call themselves progressive are not progressive at all - they don't care about the poor or the sick. It is all about political partisanship.

How can those who call themselves progressives advocate policies that throw millions out of work and keep children uneducated? The lockdown may have been justified for a few weeks in March but now it is almost June.

It is not about the virus anymore. It is about scoring points with voters and social media followers. The left is not concerned with personal liberty, justice, or the flourishing of the human spirit. It is preoccupied with oppression, conformity, and centralized control.
