The Labour Party has an annual staff wage bill of over £23 million, including pensions.
This massive expenditure can only be sustained because of first-past-the post.
That& #39;s the primary reason why the Labour is financially incentivised to maintain first past the post.

Labour spent over £23 million on wages and pensions in 2018.
Based on their total headcount of 441 staff, that& #39;s an average of £54,000 per person.
But, as the 441 number includes 56 part time staff. The average wage and pension bill for full time staff will be higher.

Labour relies on Short Money to keep paying its massive wage bill - they hoovered up 79% of all Short Money in 2019 (despite the fact that Labour seldom gets more than 40% of the vote)

Anyone who& #39;s worked for a large organisation knows that the first rule is not to rock the boat.
In other words: make sure everyone keeps their job and gets regular pay rises.
So any Labour person arguing to end the FPTP gravy train will be painting a target on their back.
