90,000 Americans are dead.
1,400,000 confirmed U.S. cases.
36,000,000+ unemployment claims filed.

Trump had plenty of warning, but he failed to act to slow the spread of the pandemic.

@StaceyAbrams takes us back in time to explain Trump’s failed coronavirus response:
SABOTAGING PREPAREDNESS:

In the years leading up to this crisis, Trump closed the White House pandemic office and proposed budget cuts to pandemic preparedness.

Then, he ignored key warnings from experts as coronavirus spread in the Wuhan region.
IGNORING WARNING SIGNS:

Throughout January: Trump was briefed multiple times about the severity of the coronavirus crisis. He ignored expert advice and refused to act.

1/20: First U.S. coronavirus case was confirmed.
TESTING FAILS:

February: Trump failed to ramp up testing.
3/6: Trump lied: “Anybody that wants a test can get a test.”
3/13: The U.S. had only conducted ~25,000 tests. South Korea had conducted 10 TIMES as many tests over the same time frame.
CASES MOUNT. TRUMP STILL WON’T ACT:

By March 8, U.S. cases began doubling every 3 days.

Experts called for social distancing. Health care workers begged for PPE. Trump wasted time and failed to respond.
MARKET CRASH AND MISINFORMATION:

3/16: The market dropped 12%—its worst day ever.
Trump finally enacted social distancing guidelines—then refused to adhere to them and tweeted in support of protestors.

As cases and deaths skyrocketed, Trump’s response: “We’ve done a great job.”
This is America under Trump:

Most coronavirus cases and deaths in the world.
Highest unemployment rate since the Great Depression.
People of color, Native Americans, and rural communities are suffering badly.

@StaceyAbrams is right: Trump’s chaos has a tragic price.
