Today is the 1st of 3 #rogation days! We pray for good weather and acknowledge our dependence on good harvests and human labour, regardless of how far removed we imagine we are from small or industrial farming. If you'd like to mark these days, here are some ideas:
Prayer and giving (if you can) for those plagued by locusts in East Africa, where swarms have reached the size of major cities: https://shar.es/aHOkDe
Closer to home, become familiar with this @JCWI_UK report on the government's proposed migration points system, particularly the section on the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Scheme: https://www.jcwi.org.uk/Handlers/Download.ashx?IDMF=3b059a73-f0c5-49be-9429-64f93c3e1fcc
'Beat the bounds', whether you live in the countryside or in a city. Learn about the earth you live on - the history of the place you live, and the people who live there.
Plant seeds!
None of us are above the mess of food production and distribution. If you're wealthy enough to afford it, support local/small farmers.

(In Manchester we use this scheme - if you live in a city, find out your equivalent): https://vegboxpeople.org.uk/farmers
Jubilee Years in scripture are years of liberation for the people and for the land. Sign this petition from @christian_aid to push for debt jubilee for the world's most vulnerable countries: https://www.christianaid.org.uk/campaigns/debt-jubilee-petition
Finally - the stability of harvests and human welfare is most existentially threatened by climate breakdown. Join a group organising for a post-COVID19 recovery that prioritises the health of the earth and its people.
