Templates reduce maintenance burden by making contributors *think* before posting an issue.

Issues require a maintainer to act upon if they don’t want to see issues pile up.
Honestly, for this particular case, how GitHub made “issues” the default communication channel between new comes and maintainers is partly at fault.
But as contributors it’s also important we take the time to comply with a project’s template, so that maintainers don’t have to take more of their free time to make us follow it anyway.

Small distributed efforts to minimize the burden on the handful. :)
