Immigration Bill before parliament today. A Bill that would block entry to all care workers, cleaners, shop workers, delivery drivers & other low paid key workers who we clap for every week.

Bill is guaranteed to increase number of key workers with no route to a legal immigration status who become undocumented, facing the cruelty of the Hostile Environment, exposing them to exploitation at work, with no way to force employers to provide sick pay, health & safety etc.

Government is completely out of touch. Prioritising a vindictive Immigration Bill at a time when people want them to be getting on with things that matter.
And no, that doesnt include branding care workers "unskilled" and enacting legislation to keep them out in a crisis #r4today

Great to see that Labour plans to oppose this Bill today. Sure we can count on the Greens, SNP, etc to do the same. What we really need, though, are some Tories to recognise how they've misread the public mood here & rebel for a rethink... But how likely is that. #r4today
